Host Company Guidelines

The Host Company of the Music Theatre Guilds annual Bruce Awards Night is responsible for assisting in the successful presentation of the night.

The Host Company is selected for their ‘local knowledge’ of the location of the night.

The selection will follow discussions with the Production Team for the year’s event.

The evening is a Guild event and as such all decisions associated with the evening are the responsibility of the Guild Committee.

Any decisions requiring financial decisions or contractual arrangements or matters are the decision of the Guild Committee.

The Host Company is not responsible for any costs associated with the night and where necessary should seek re-imbursement for any costs asked for by the Production Manager as listed below.

The Guild Committee will provide a Production Manager who is responsible for the overall Management of the evening on behalf of the Guild Committee.

Duties of Company may include the following and will be confirmed by the Guild Committee each year.

  • Provide local knowledge of venue to Production Manager and Production Team
  • Provide Stage Manager and Crew with local venue knowledge.
  • Provide as required Lighting Co-ordinator with local venue knowledge.
  • Assist with locating a venue for rehearsing of Sitz Probe.
  • As requested by Production Manager assist with sourcing local suppliers e.g. Sound.
  • Provide refreshments for Orchestra, Production Team and Committee at Sitz Probe.
  • Provide lunch on day of Awards for Orchestra, Production Team and Committee.
  • Assist in provision of small props as directed.
  • Provide assistance with venue Bump In and set up on day of Awards
  • Provide Front of House Staff for evening to assist with distributing the Program. As required provide Ushers to assist with direction of audience and performers.
  • Assist with local knowledge as required with regard to Dressing Room set up and allocation.
  • Assist with Bump Out requirements of venue as directed by Production Manager.
  • Assist with local knowledge of Catering Companies associated with venue.
  • As required assist with catering support (hosts) at event following presentation.
  • Assist wherever possible with requirements in the lead up to and success of the event.
