APPLICATION
TO BE A JUDGE
The Guild Awards for
Excellence acknowledge the outstanding achievements of Victorian non-professional
theatre companies producing musicals.
The 7 Judges for the 2003 Awards, for productions opening in the period
Sun Nov 10 2002 to Sat 15 Nov 2003, will be appointed in October 2002.
To make up the 2003 Judging Panel, we are looking for individuals with
expertise and experience in many aspects of contemporary musical theatre
practice, especially within a non-professional context, and an eye-for-detail.
This is your opportunity to encourage and support participants in non-professional
musicals, and give something back to the community.
Members of the Judging Panel see approximately 50 shows from all over
Victoria every year, travelling many hundreds (or thousands) of kilometres.
They are committed to the development of non-professional musical theatre
in Victoria, giving their time freely and covering their own expenses.
Judges are not paid to judge for the Guild Awards, however each judge
receives an honorarium of $100 at the end of the year to contribute in
some small way to covering travel expenses, and $50 if requested to subsidise
accommodation if an overnight stay is involved.
Judges are allowed to be members of companies and participate in shows,
however Judges' individual contributions to shows will not be considered
for nomination and they will take no part in judging such shows.
If interested, please sent a CV and a short cover letter by late September
to the Guild c/o Secretary, Wendy Tomkins, 18 Linton Lane, Highton 3216
(ph 5243-2781) or gandwt@bigpond.net.au
