Formed In 1948 when a group of teenagers at St Peters
Church Mornington decided that life up on the wicked stage was for them. Hence
the Church of England Fellowship Players was born, a name the group has kept,
although the original affiliation as a church based Players group is no longer
applicable, we still have a great affection for our roots.
At first the group performed only plays and then they
became very daring and tried a musical 'Salad Days' which was so successful
musicals became part of the yearly calendar.
The group continues to evolve, striving to provide for
audiences, cast, and crew
excellence in theatre, this can only be done if
there is a commitment to training new performers, musicians, and crew, and
taking a challenge in performing musicals and plays that are diverse in
style.
